Following the successful training of 24 volunteers over this last weekend 20th-21st March 2010 the Trust is now ready to start monitoring our River's Invertebrates. Now that all monitors are able to recognise 8 key species down to family level the Trust will be able to log all the data and generate a vital insight into the welfare of our River as each family has different tolerance to pollutions. Key sites have been chosen to monitor on a bi monthly basis throughout the river corridor as this gives us a very accurate data base to work off in spotting potential events that may be occurring that we cannot see with the eye. Our Greenstreams partner, Syngenta, have agreed to allow a Trust representative to monitor within their security perimeter as they are so confident of their own input into the River. Education Update for Greenstreams Project: We are working with Kirklees Education to develop a programme that is recognised by the Dept of Education and Skills and to go into senior schools to deliver a program of Angling Coaching with our own in house coaches. By mid April we hope to have 3 Nationally Qualified Coaches. Would you like a paper newsletter? Click here and send us your details.
