Protecting and improving the rivers and waterways of Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield. For people, for wildlife, and for the communities who love them.

We're your local Rivers Trust. A registered charity working across Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield to protect, restore, and celebrate the rivers at the heart of this landscape.
From the River Calder to the Colne, the Holme, and every beck and brook in between, we work with local communities, volunteers, and partners to make our waterways healthier, wilder, and more resilient. We're part of a network of over 60 Rivers Trusts across the UK and Ireland, all united by a single goal: rivers that people and wildlife can thrive alongside.

Your donation goes directly into protecting our rivers. Every contribution counts.

Want to get involved and help support your local rivers? We'd love to hear from you.

Improving water stewardship, water quality, and biodiversity across the catchment.
The rivers of Calderdale have shaped everything. The landscape, the naming of places, the towns, and the industry that built the region. The Calder's story stretches back 310 million years, from ancient tropical rainforest to the wool trade, the canal age, and the floods that have tested this valley time and again.
It's a history worth exploring, and a river worth protecting.
